INTERNATIONAL PIANO MASTERCLASS of PLAMENA MANGOVA

 

It is our pleasure to offer to all talented young pianists the opportunity to participate in the international masterclass of one of Bulgaria’s foremost concert artists – Ms. Plamena Mangova.

The masterclass, open to both Bulgarian and foreign participants, will take place between April 8-13, 2024 at the Pancho Vladigerov House Museum on 10 Yakubitsa str. in Sofia.

REGULATION

  • The masterclass is open to performing pianists with musical education or considerable artistic achievements.
  • Participants must be between 10 and 30 years old.
  • All applicants must submit a recording of their own performance via an online/url link. Deadline for submissions: March 10, 2024.
  • The candidates will be evaluated by Ms. Plamena Mangova after March 10, 2024.
  • All admitted participants will be informed by e-mail by March 17, 2024.
  • Registration will continue until March 22, 2024 with the submission of a registration form. Forms can be received on the premises of the Pancho Vladigerov House Museum or requested by e-mail. They can also be downloaded from here.
  • All registered participants have to pay a base participation fee covering 4 lessons. The fee must be paid by March 22, 2024 on the premises of the Museum or via bank transfer. In the latter case, the transfer receipt/slip must be sent to the e-mail address of the Pancho Vladigerov House Museum.
  • Participants are allowed to take extra lessons at a corresponding fee. All extra lessons will be confirmed individually by e-mail, according to the availability of the guest-artist and the schedule at hand.
  • All participants are free to present any repertoire of their own choice at the masterclass, without limitations regarding style or epoch. However, all chosen works must be listed in the original registration form.
  • The masterclass will end with the Participants’ Final Concert, which will take place on April 13, 2024 at 6 p.m. at the Museum. Tickets will be sold on the premises, with their number limited according to the capacity of the main salon (ca.40 visitors).
  • All active participants will receive diplomas upon completion of the masterclass.
  • Travel and accommodation expenses are not included in the fee and must be covered by each participant individually.
  • All participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian.
  • The organizers reserve the right to change the program due to unforeseen and forcing circumstances, such as Covid-19 and other factors.
  • In the event that a participant has been registered but cannot be present at the venue due to illness or other reasons, the lesson will take place online at a time agreed upon by the guest-artist and the participant.

 

PARTICIPATION FEES

Active participants: 400 € for 4 lesson hours (base fee). Every additional lesson will cost 100 € per hour.

Passive participants: 15 € per day. The parents and guardians of all participants are allowed to audit all lessons for free.

Accommodation and transportation in Sofia must be covered individually by each participant.

A participant’s registration will be considered complete upon:

  • the approval by the guest-artist, the submission of a completed registration form, and the payment of the participation fee.
  • the registration form and the payment receipt must be sent to: vladigerov@gmail.com or given in person at the Museum.
  • the confirmation of their participation from the organizers and the delivery (by e-mail) of the final schedule

All rights to take photographic, video, and audio recordings are reserved for the organizers of the masterclass. With the submission of the registration form, each participant grants the organizers the right to use the entire photo, video, and audio archive from the masterclass and the concluding concert(s) for the purpose of advertising and popularizing the event. No honoraria will be paid for documental, radio, or television recordings of the participants’ performances in the final concert.
