Today, the composer’s home, where he lived from 1951 until his death in 1978, is a museum. This was the composer’s will, as stated in his last testament. To fulfil his last will, his wife, Mrs Elka Vladigerova, donated her inheritance and the composer’s entire archive. Alexander Vladigerov, the composer’s son, and Pancho Vladigerov, Jr, his grandson, are co-donors.
The House Museum Pancho Vladigerov in Sofia has been open to visitors since 2005. Our mission is to ensure that this place will not be just static museum space, but a cultural and music centre of the capital city – a venue for meetings, music, people, events – the way it was during the composer’s lifetime. The specific atmosphere of Vladigerov’s home, his piano and grand piano, which are in very good state, create the perfect conditions for organising concerts and cultural events.
